How to Tell Which Process Is Using A File
When trying to delete, move, or rename a file you get a Windows system error message:
“Cannot delete file: Access is denied”.
“There has been a sharing violation”.
“The source or destination file may be in use”.
“The file is in use by another program or user”.
“Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use”.
Sometimes malware or virus can lock these files or folders and you can now track it down and delete it .

IObit Unlocker is another handy tool that can “Unlock & Delete”, “Unlock & Rename”, “Unlock & Move”, and “Unlock & Copy” I’ve used it on windows 10 & 11 both work fine 👍

Powertoys has always been a great tool to have, allough I never really install it myself 🤔 lol
you know when using a non admin account and want to do admin stuff without loging out and you get a prompt for admin password why dont windows 11 take focus of this admin prompt im typing and nothing is writing in the password field how anoying how do i solve this so its more like windows 10 where it just works?
This is certainly a very useful tool if a file on a usb drive is preventing the removal of the usb drive from the system as it will pinpoint the program or process locking the file after it was copied or opened on the external device but not released properly.
