Our society is becoming increasingly disillusioned with all the ‘wonder’ chemicals that we fell in love with decades ago. With increased cancer and Autism rates, to name just a few, we are beginning to wonder if these chemicals haven’t done more harm than good. If you want to change your habits start by using all natural skin care products.
This is a good place to start because your skin is the biggest organ in your body. It absorbs like a sponge so if you put dangerous, chemical filled products, such as lotions, on your skin all those chemicals get absorbed directly into your blood stream.
So, how do you know if a product truly is all natural? This is where it can get a little tricky. In order for something to be completely organic it needs to be made up of 100% natural materials with no added man-made chemicals of any kind.
Oftentimes natural products are more expensive since the individual ingredients are grown and can’t be mass produced. It’s for this reason that all major cosmetics companies prefer using man made ingredients as much as possible: not because they’re better, but because they’re cheaper.
The cosmetic company doesn’t pass that savings on to you though, they just make more money on each product.
There is mounting evidence to suggest that adding all these chemicals to your system, over a lifetime, can have very serious side effects not only to you but to your offspring as well since many of the chemical compounds can remain in your system and be passed on to your child when you are pregnant.
Most major department stores will have a fairly large selection of natural products. If you can’t find what you need just check your local community for a store that specializes in organics. I live in a very small town and we have one here so I know you should be able to find one almost anywhere.
The bottom line is that you have only one body, you need to take care of it. Using all natural skin care products is one way to not only keep looking younger longer, but also keep the potentially toxic chemicals you add to your body to a minimum.
