  2. There was another shortage in our local small store and often certain foods do not get restocked for months. I appreciate shows like yours where we learn how to make things for ourselves. We haven’t had sausage rolls in our freezer section in our store for about 5 months and I have a real craving, so will make your recipe this weekend.
    I like making my own breadcrumbs. When my homemade bread (all kinds of breads, buns, assorted bits from the freezer) is not that fresh anymore (either from breadbasket or freezer), I break up the bread onto a cookie sheet and crisp it in a low oven and then use my food processor to make the crumbs. They go into a bag and are kept in the freezer to add to recipes as needed. It is actually much cheaper making my own than buying those little containers of it in a store.

    Ireland is one of my all time favorite European countries
    I tasted pork once or twice
    it’s good
    But there’s better meat in my opinion
    It’s a taboo for me to eat pork
    But as someone who cooks
    Curiosity killed the cat
    And I tasted
    Do you think is ok to substitute pork sausage with beef, lamb, mouton, turkey or chicken?? Or does it have to be pork?

  14. Thank you for sharing this recipe. Sausage rolls are just about my favourite food. I love them warmed up a bit but often I prefer them cold. I also prefer them to be cut about 5 inches apart. When I hike or travel I always try to make sure I have a couple of sausage rolls wrapped up in my coat pocket. Whenever I’m in a bakery I always check out the sausage rolls. I’ve noticed that as I age it’s becoming a lot more difficult to find bakeries that still make sausage rolls and the ones that do still make them don’t seem to know how to make them properly. Home made sausage rolls are consistently wonderful.
