Salsa Cream Cheese Crab Dip Recipe – From The Side Of The Fridge
This is one of those side of the fridge recipes that has undergone change over the years; both to suit our taste and to reduce the size of the portion. Is this the best crab dip? I like it. It’s a great hot crab dip recipe, it’s a great cold crab dip recipe, it’s an easy crab dip from scratch recipe. It’s a delicious crab dip with cream cheese.
Original Ingredients:
4 x 8 oz packages cream cheese
2 leek. chopped
1 cup salsa

In a medium bowl mix together the cream cheese, chopped leeks, salsa, mayonnaise, chili powder and Worcestershire sauce.
Add the crab and Tabasco sauce and thoroughly combine

Hey guys, big fan of the channel for a while now. Here is our New Years eve tradition crab dip.
1 lb imitation crab (or real if you want)
1/4 cup finely minced onion
1 tbsp lemon juice
8 oz cream cheese
1 tsp sugar
White pepper and salt to taste
16 oz sour cream
Bring cream cheese up to room temp
Roughly pulse crab in food processor
Mix everything except sour cream
Fold sour cream in after all other ingredients are well mixed
If you store overnight in fridge the flavors come together
Served cold with wheat thins is our favorite
You could also use canned chicken or some minced up cooked chicken for essentially a southwest or buffalo chicken dip.
Hi there from the UK. A quick question. One of the main ingredients seems to be cream cheese. We have a good selection of cheeses here but the only generic cream cheese I can think of is something called Kraft Philadelphia. Would that work? Anyone else from the UK reading this that has an alternative could you let me know. Cheers.
For me, it’s clam dip and cocktail shrimp! Similar, cream cheese, mayo/sour cream cocktail sauce, Worcester sauce/soy sauce, garlic powder, green onion, canned chopped and minced clams. I’ve been out of cream cheese and used sour cream & mayo, however I can get the clam dip, I’m pretty much down with it. And yes, I do a happy dance when I make it. Heck, I’ve even added canned shrimp; it’s no bake, but you could! 😋❤🙏👑✝
Two shakes of liquid smoke goes in in our house.
Instead of salsa how about sour cream and horse radish?
mine is canned crab, cream cheese and cocktail sauce – served with wheat thins.
Lovely green Scandinavian sweater!
It is my hope that he has a bag of cheese in the fridge marked “for when you’re feeling wild”
Holy cow! That original recipe using 4 – 8 oz packages of cream cheese could feed an army!!
I love your and Jules channel here! Love that you wear your kitchen towel on the side hanging from your apron strap!!! Thank you for all you do!!
One of my simple go to dips for 20yrs or more has been just sour cream & salsa. When I began making it people thought I was nuts but then tasted it. I never make onion dip anymore. I’d like to try this crab dip…
I make the salsa and cream cheese dip and eat it cold with veggies. I will have to try a crab version.
My grandmother’s recipe uses chili sauce, instead of cocktail sauce.
I put clamato in mine… very yummy!
I’ve never made my own, but this reminds of a dip I’ve had that added some parmesan in the mix. So Good.
I will save this! Crab dipp is really not a thing where I live. But it sound and look delissious!
